Asleep at the Chateau by Jork Weismann

Apparently, in 1939 the founder of Columbia Pictures, Harry Cohn told William Holden and Glenn Ford, “If you must get in trouble, do it at the Chateau Marmont.” And it appears that many stars have taken this advice onboard, as Jim Morrison fell off the roof of the hotel and said that he had ‘used up the eight of my nine lives’, John Belushi died of a drug overdose there; the young Rock Hudson conducted his first gay love affair with the hotel manager’s nephew, and fashion photographer Helmut Newton died there after he crashed his car into wall on the hotel’s drive. Elizabeth Taylor took her friend Montgomery Clift there to rest up after his automoble accident had nearly killed him, damaging his face forever, whilst James Dean famously auditioned Natalie Wood for a role in Rebel Without a Cause, and Led Zeppelin rode their motorbikes through the hotel lobby. Supposedly Jean Harlow and Clark Gable conducted an illicit affair there and celebrities such as Greta Garbo and Howard Hughes have both lived there for extended periods of time. Asleep at the Chateau by photographer Jork Weismann showcases a collection of new celebrities, all sleeping peacefully at the Chateau. This new collection of arty photographs also features Orlando Bloom, Justin Theroux (isn’t he Jennifer Aniston’s latest squeeze?) Usher, Bret Easton Ellis, Kirsty Hume, Scott Caan, Morrissey, Patti Smith, Juergen Teller and Sally Singer. Sprawled out in chairs, on couches or across the floor, Weismann’s subjects reveal both themselves and the Chateau as they have never before been portrayed. Today the hotel is still a hot spot for anyone who wants to do a bit of celebrity spotting.

Talking of new celebrities, Eva Longoria also features in Asleep at the Chateau, and her picture shows her in one of the hotel’s bedrooms, asleep on a bed with a white sheet barely covering her. She is facing away from the camera and is showing off a very peachy rear and her back which boasts a couple of tattoos. You can see her face and her eyes are closed n the photograph, suggesting she is sleeping. The 37 year old actress looks amazing in the picture and she attributes this to her working out every morning. She told Look magazine that she has to exercise as soon as she gets up as if she hasn’t by a certain time, she won’t feel like doing it. Eva said, “I work out in the mornings when I get up. I have to do it then – if it’s after 11am it just doesn’t happen,’ she added, “I have to get it done while I’m still on autopilot because I hate exercising. I tried Pilates, but I couldn’t deal with it,” she revealed. “Dancing is also a great way to stay fit – I wish I could do that every day.”Eva sticks to a healthy diet most of the time but does love the occasional junk food take out. She said, “I did two months recently without sugar too. And once you start paying attention, everything sees to contain it. It’s like, ‘Oh my god, even this banana is sugary.’ But I do love French fries.” The diminutive star was obviously not worried about flaunting her bottom for the art book, saying, “I do have confidence in my self-image. It’s all about food and exercise – I don’t really eat a lot of carbs.” And perhaps her new love interest, NFL star Mark Sanchez, has had something to do with her self confidence, as although she played down the romance to Extra host Mario Lopez, telling him, “Mark and I are, you know, fine. We’re happy just dating,” a source close to the pair revealed to Access Hollywood this week that the Mexican-American New York Giants player is head over heels with her. The source disclosed, “He is really in love with her and serious about her.”
