Adding Flavor to Your Water Without the Calories
When you are trying cut out sugary and high calorie drinks from your diet, it can be hard to stick to water only. Water is tasteless, and sometimes you have a craving for something more. Instead of trying to drink something incredibly unhealthy, stick to these guilt-free options to diminish you cravings.
Here are a couple of options to add some flavor to your water:
Add Fruits or Vegetables
Adding fruit can give your water a complete makeover. It doesn’t matter if you let the fruit soak over night or drinking the water immediately after adding fruit. This has actually be my newest venture with drinks. I’ve been checking out Pinterest for ideas to keep my water tasty. My favorite mix currently is strawberry and cucumbers in my water. Other additions to your water can include lemons, limes, apples, berries, or anything you can think of.
Sports Drink Mix
Whether you are intending on working out or need a simple boost after your fitness session, some sports drinks can be incredibly beneficial. A favorite of mine is Propel Fit Powder. It’s a clear formula, and it doesn’t make you drink seem “chalky.” It’s also lower in calories compared to other sports drink mixes. If it’s not for you, there are plenty of other options out there that you can mix with your water bottles. Check out your local grocery store for the options that are available to you, but be sure to keep an eye on the nutrition facts.
Flavored Liquid Drops
If you are not a fan of powdered mixes, there’s also the option of having flavored water drops to enhance your beverage. Mio offers a variety of flavors to spice up your water. They even offer energy enhancement options. They’re simple to add to your water bottle. All you have to do is add a few drops and shake your water bottle, and it’s ready to go. My favorite flavor is Strawberry Watermelon.
Tea
Tea is an easy solution to adding flavor to your water. You can even drink your tea hot or cold. It’s cost effective and can provide you with numerous benefits, depending on your selection. There are so many different kinds of tea, that you will most likely find a flavor your like. There’s the option of black tea, green tea, white tea and more! Buy a variety back of tea bags and figure out what flavor suits you best.
