Bored or dissatisfied with your living room? You don’t need to hire an interior designer or buy expensive new furniture and artwork. There are lots of inexpensive and easy ways to redecorate your living room. Here are some ideas:

Throw Pillows

Give your sofas and chairs a new look by adding (or replacing) decorative throw pillows. Throw pillows come in wide ranges of styles, colors, patterns, materials, sizes, and prices. With so much variety, they’re an excellent way to show off your unique tastes. You can find inexpensive throw pillows to fit any budget – many cost as little as $15 each. It’s fun to experiment with throw pillows, too. They don’t all have to be the same, and they can match or complement just about any color in the room’s motif.

Wall Mirrors

While wall mirrors tend to get pricier as they get larger, you can still find relatively inexpensive ones to choose from. A wall mirror in the living room, perhaps above the couch or on a bare wall, add great depth and dimension, making the room look much larger than it actually is. Mirrors come in many different shapes, from simple squares or circles to more complex and odd shapes. Borders can be simple or ornate and in a variety of colors. A wall mirror really stands out in any room.

Slipcovers

New sofas and chairs for your living room are very expensive. If you’re tired of yours, you don’t have to break the bank to get a new look. You can update your current furniture with slipcovers. You can purchase slipcovers that will fit over your entire sofa and its cushions for less than $100. Slipcovers come in lots of different colors and fabrics, and you’ll be surprised at how good they look. A new sofa can change the whole room, and a slipcover is a cheaper way to achieve the exact same effect.

Wall Paint

It’s the simple, go-to trick for changing the look of any room: paint the walls. A new wall color will transform your living room and give it an entirely new atmosphere. A fresh, crisp paint job looks amazing, and you can choose a bold color that will brighten up the entire room. All four walls don’t have to be the same color; you can use two (or more) complementary colors for a trendy look. Painting the ceiling a light color can make it look taller, and don’t forget to update the door and window trim.

Area Rug

If you’d love a new carpet or new flooring but don’t have the budget for it, an area rug is an excellent alternative. Area rugs range wildly in prices, and large area rugs can be expensive. You can, however, find mid-sized area rugs under $100 in many different styles, patterns, and colors. An area rug can update the look of your flooring, or even mask stains and other floor damage. When you walk into a room, a bold area rug can draw a lot of attention and set the tone of the entire space.
