Getting a Good Deal on Bodybuilding Supplements

Bodybuilding supplements such as whey protein, creatine and fat burners have become big business over the last few Bodybuilding Supplementsyears. As more and more companies spring up that sell sports supplements, the consumer has to be even more selective. There is an abundance of both different brands and retailers when it comes to bodybuilding supplements and the secret of getting a good deal is to shop around and to shop carefully.

When you are getting started, it is a good idea to first consult one of the personal trainers in your own gym. This is not the place to actually buy your supplements (they tend to be much more expensive than buying online) but it is important to make sure that you are buying the right supplements. You also need to ensure that your workout routine is designed in a way that will maximise the effect of the supplements that you are using. If you use a gym that doesn’t sell its own supplements then you may be able to get a personal recommendation of a good place to buy from.

Once you know what supplements that you are looking for, you should really start with a Google shopping result. Google will allow you to compare products by price. Make sure that you look not just at the base price (the mostly clearly marked) but also the total price. The retailer with the cheapest price for a product will not necessarily be the cheapest to buy from. Check to see what they charge for postage and you may find that retailer that seemed more expensive is actually offering the best deal. When I shop online I tend to lean towards retailers that offer me free postage.

Another thing to look at carefully when shopping for bodybuilding supplements is what bulk discounts an online retailer is offering. Many supplements work better when used in conjunction with products, this means it is actually quite rare for someone who is serious about building muscle bulk to use a single product. Many online retailers will put together a group of bodybuilding supplements (known as a stack) and by buying all of these products at once you can often get a much better deal. If you are using several different supplements then take the time to price them individually, but also to look for a stack that contains the products that you are looking for (or perhaps similar ones.)

In terms of bulk buying, you may find that by buying a supply for several months in advance will get you a better deal. Look around the website for discounts when you spend over a certain amount, this can actually save you a lot in the long-term.

The moral of the story is that you definitely should use tools like Google shopping to find the cheapest individual price for bodybuilding supplements, but that you should visit several sites before you buy to compare the price of postage, of stacks and to look for discounts for spending over a certain amount. When you combine these discounts, you could save around 30% on the cost of your supplements.
