walk down the aisle on your wedding day? If any of these sound like you, you will definitely want to check out the most daring 2012 wedding dress trends!

Thigh High Slits

The sexiest piece of real estate on brides in 2012 won’t be the cleavage; it’s the thigh. Echoing a popular red carpet and evening wear trend, front slits are big news in wedding gowns this year. And not just a demure little slit, but a really daring one that bares a lot of thigh. Where could you wear this kind of wedding dress? It would be ideal for a big city wedding, one in an art gallery, or of course Vegas. Just don’t try to pull it off for a very traditional Catholic or Jewish wedding!

Low Cut Backs

Another daring trend for 2012 weddings is the low cut back on a wedding dress. This is a great style to rock, in part because it can be done more tastefully than a really, really low cut front. A wedding dress with a dramatic back also has a lot of that “wow” factor that so many brides are seeking. Unlike the gown with the thigh high slit, you can get away wearing a low back for a traditional marriage ceremony if you wear a little bolero over it. Then remove it for the reception, and voila! – you have a sexy party dress to dance the night away in. Emphasize the back of the dress by ordering custom jewelry for your wedding that has a pendant that hangs low down the back. And definitely pull your hair up to showcase the signature feature of your wedding gown.

Pants for Brides

If you really want to wear something non-traditional for your wedding, another daring trend is wedding pants. In another instance of bridal following celebrity trends, a one piece white pantsuit just might be an up and coming style for the bride who is truly confident in her fashion sense. The wedding pants for brides are actually incredibly chic, and even quite bridal. Designer Theia created a one piece white pantsuit in a white crepe material with a sleeveless top that has tuxedo inspired lapels. It is both tailored and feminine at the same time. Fuss-free, but very elegant and not at all like a woman in menswear. Pnina Tornai is also showing a wedding pantsuit for 2012 brides. It is a sexy lacy halter one piece design with wide leg pants. The seductive style is vintage Pnina, even though the pants are a new style. The wedding pants outfits could be quite fabulous for a wedding on a ship or for a second wedding taking place pretty much anywhere.

Colorful Wedding Dresses

Not quite ready to walk down the aisle in pants? Then how about wearing a beautiful lace embellished bridal gown…in black. If you have seen Vera Wang’s 2012 wedding gown collection, you know that the most dramatic style on the bridal runway is a black lace gown, perhaps with a caramel underlayer. For those brides who are ready to depart from white, but not quite ready to don a black wedding dress, many designers are offering gowns in colors other than white. Blush and pink are especially popular, but you can also find dresses in yellow, pale blue, platinum, and champagne. The designs of the wedding gowns in colors tend to be very romantic and feminine; they just aren’t made in traditional white. If you aren’t daring enough to wear a wedding gown made in a color, then you can always sample the trend by choosing wedding jewelry or shoes in your favorite shade.

The new daring trends of 2012 definitely aren’t right for every bride, but if you have always dreamed of turning heads when you walk down the aisle, one of these just might be right for you!
