Experience The Rapture of Rouge!

Baton Rouge-the Capital of U.S State of Louisiana, is the land of varied diversity of life. Its colorful community rich in BatonRougeheritage, character, charm, culture, and entertainment make Baton Rouge ranked as America’s 70th largest Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA).  As the farthest inland deep-water port on the Mississippi River, it serves as a major center of industrial, petrochemical, medical, and research activity of Southern America.

The Capital City of Louisiana, Baton Rouge is a major attraction for its arts and entertainment activities as well. It is very renowned for LSU and SU athletics, world-famous Louisiana Cajun cuisine, a thriving film and television industry, magnificent plantation tours, and lots of family festivals and events taking place all round the year.

Take A Look: Baton Rouge is one of the rapidly developing cities in America and has many sites that attract tourists from all over the world. From historic places to amusement parks, from sporting events to music it has varied attractions all round the year. I could make it to a few like the Louisiana State Capitol, a historic building art deco masterpiece that has been the site of a bombing, an assassination and the infinite machinations of state kingpins and politics. Then, the USS KIDD is an amusing historical museum of ships. But I didn’t miss the Louisiana State Museum, and the Blue Bayou Water Park and the other popular places like Shaw Centre for the Arts, Magnolia Mound Plantation, Louisiana Art and Science Museum. You can find a lot on Baton Rouge Things To Do for all ages and combat your hunger for travel.

Gastro(g)nome: Baton Rouge is a place known for food. The heart of the city consists of the perfect blend of old-fashioned diners and native-style soul food to ethnic cuisine filled with exciting flavors. The Cajun cuisine, the star attraction, still seems to crave my taste buds. In the city I found festivals occur quite frequently, of which, Fete Rouge that takes place from August 25-27 attracts most of the tourists and natives.

Shake A Leg: The happening city has an exciting night-life as well. Pubs and Casinos, apart from music and drinks also provide exciting games like Blackjack, Caribbean Stud Poker, Craps, Mini-Baccarat and Roulette. I found the most popular to be, The Clicks, Casino Rouge and Argosy Casino.

Hole In Your Pocket: Baton Rouge is a perfect go-to destination for shopping. The city thrives with malls and markets, thus taking things back home becomes easier, that too with a variety of options. Year-round festivals provided me with unique gifts and local products. Shopping is a great option when it comes to places like the Mall of Louisiana, Perkins Rowe and the Tanger Outlets. The most popular places include Red Stick Farmer’s Market, Victoria’s Toy Station, The Royal Standard and The Baton Rouge Arts Market.

For Some Adrenaline Rush: It was amazing to see the people are crazy for sporting activities. The Louisiana State University organizes and facilitates most of the sporting activities all round the year and annually competes for conference, regional and national championships in most varsity sports. The LSU Football Team and “Fighting Tigers” are the local favorites. The LSU Tiger Stadium; I bet is the No.1 attraction of Baton Rouge. Apart from it people from all age groups take great interest in golf and bowling activities as well.
